SIDEWALK SNOW REMOVAL FAQ

Questions About Sidewalk Snow Removal in Vancouver

Answers to common questions about access, snow placement, repeat snowfall and clearing different pedestrian areas.

Where do you put the snow after clearing a Vancouver sidewalk? +

We try to place removed snow in an appropriate area that does not block entrances, drains, pedestrian routes or vehicle access. If your Vancouver property has limited snow-storage space, let us know where you want snow placed before service begins.

What happens if garbage bins, bicycles or other items block the sidewalk? +

Items left in the clearing area can prevent our crew from reaching the full surface. Whenever possible, move garbage bins, bicycles, planters and other obstacles before the crew arrives. If something cannot be moved, tell us in advance so it can be noted in the property's service instructions.

Can you clear narrow sidewalks and pathways where larger equipment cannot fit? +

Yes. Many Vancouver properties have narrow walkways, side paths and entrances that cannot be accessed with larger snow equipment. These areas can often be cleared manually as part of the agreed sidewalk snow removal service .

What if snow falls again after my sidewalk has already been cleared? +

A completed clearing does not prevent new accumulation later in the day. During longer Vancouver snow events, additional service may be required depending on your service arrangement and how much new snow accumulates.

Can you clear around busy storefronts without blocking customers? +

Yes. For retail and commercial properties, tell us about opening times, deliveries, busy entrances and priority pedestrian routes when setting up service. Customers requiring broader property coverage can also review our commercial snow removal services .

Can you clear snow from pavers, concrete and other sidewalk surfaces? +

Yes, but the clearing method may vary depending on the surface and conditions. Let us know if the property has decorative pavers, uneven concrete, raised edges or other areas where the crew should use additional care.

What should I tell you about gates or locked areas before snowfall? +

If agreed walkways, stairs or entrances are behind a gate or locked access point, provide access instructions before service is required. This is especially important for strata buildings, apartment properties and managed commercial locations.

Can you clear sidewalks around parked vehicles without moving them? +

We can clear accessible pedestrian areas, but parked vehicles may limit the crew's ability to reach certain sections. If possible, move vehicles before service or tell us which areas must remain accessible around them.

What if a city snowplow pushes snow back toward my sidewalk? +

Snow pushed toward an entrance, curb or pedestrian route after your property has already been serviced may create new accumulation. Additional clearing may be required if conditions change after the original service visit.

Can I specify which sidewalk or entrance should be cleared first? +

Yes. If your property has a high-traffic entrance, accessible route, employee entrance or another important pedestrian area, tell us when the service is set up. Those locations can be identified as priority areas for the crew.

Do you remove snow from the property or relocate it onsite? +

Standard sidewalk snow clearing generally involves moving snow to an appropriate location on or around the property rather than hauling it away. If your property has very limited space for snow accumulation, tell us before booking so we can understand the situation.

Can sidewalk clearing and parking-lot snow removal be done together? +

Yes. Properties that need both pedestrian and vehicle areas cleared can combine sidewalk service with Vancouver snow plowing , depending on the property's requirements and service arrangement.
